Barry Horne is a former Welsh footballer, widely remembered for his contributions as a central midfielder. Born on May 18, 1962, in St Asaph, Wales, Horne began his professional career at Wrexham, before moving on to Portsmouth and then Southampton, where he became known for his hard-working, no-nonsense style of play.

In 1992, he signed for Everton, where he became a key figure in the club's midfield. His most memorable moment came in the final match of the 1993-94 season, when he scored a spectacular long-range goal against Wimbledon, helping Everton avoid relegation in dramatic fashion. Throughout his career, Horne was known for his leadership on the pitch and earned over 50 caps for the Welsh national team.

Since retiring in 2002, Horne has remained connected to football, working as a coach, pundit, and even serving as chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association. He is also known for his academic achievements, having earned a degree in Chemistry, adding to his respected status both within and beyond football.
