Over the last decade, Rob Heeney has established a reputation as one of the top comics working the UK circuit today. His style is a blend of bitterness, playfulness and cynicism wrapped up in a blanket of charm.
Originating from Douglas, Isle of Man, where he was born one Christmas Eve, you'd think this qualified Chemical Physicist, trained Systems Analyst, former Taxi Driver and International Table Tennis player would be able to draw on these amazing experiences. He cannot.
Rob has long since lost count of the number of clubs he's appeared in, but they include all the UK's top ones; The Comedy Store, Jongleurs, The Glee, Up the Creek. He also appears as part of the Paramount Comedy On Tap tour of the country's universities each year.
Over the past 18 months countries as far reaching as The United Arab Emirates, the USA, the Netherlands and South Africa have enjoyed his company
Rob's versatility, quick wit and excellent ad-libbing skills have made him a much sought after comic and compere. Over the years he has enjoyed long-term residencies in Guildford, Bracknell, Reading, Canterbury, Ealing and Hampstead.
Following a commission writing for Radio Two's The Day The Music Died, Rob enjoyed a stint presenting the breakfast show on Reading's 2Ten FM, before joining Heart, where he has spent the past two years writing Jamie Theakston's Breakfast Show - winning a Sony Silver Award into the bargain. He has also recently guested on BBC Five Live's Fighting Talk
Rob can currently be seen as a regular guest on Sky News's Press Preview
