Paul Taylor is a British-Irish comedian renowned for his bilingual stand-up performances and insightful commentary on cultural differences. Born on October 11, 1986, in Chelmsford, England, to an English father and Irish mother, he spent his early years in Switzerland and France, which contributed to his fluency in French without a discernible accent.
After studying languages at university in London, Taylor worked at Apple before moving to Paris in 2009. He began his stand-up career in 2013, gaining widespread recognition with his viral video “La Bise,” which humorously critiques the French cheek-kissing tradition.
Taylor’s success led to the creation of several television series on Canal+, including “What the Fuck France?” where he humorously dissects French life from an expatriate’s perspective. He has also performed acclaimed stand-up shows such as “#Franglais” (2016–2019) and “So British (ou presque)” (2019–2022), blending English and French to explore cultural nuances.
In 2024, Taylor brought his debut English-only show, “F*** Me I’m French!”, to the Edinburgh Fringe, further showcasing his comedic versatility and deep understanding of cross-cultural humor.
