Already an established comedian in his home country Canada, Mike Wilmot started working in the UK as a stand-up comedian in 1995. For over 23 years Mike has built up a reputation as one of the unsung heroes of the UK comedy scene achieving rave reviews throughout the country for his unique stand-up. In 2003 he won the coveted Barry Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
His TV work includes; Live At The Apollo (BBC One), Rich Hall’s Fishing Show (BBC Four), Rich Hall’s Cattle Drive (BBC Four), several appearances on Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC Two), the host of Comedy Blue on Paramount plus team captain on Shoot the Messenger (Paramount Comedy Channel). Mike also played Paul Kaye’s manager in the award-winning film It’s All Gone Pete Tong.
Mike has appeared several times at Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, as well comedy festivals in Ireland, Scandinavia, Paris, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Bangkok and South Africa.
In 2016 Mike made his debut appearance at London’s Royal Albert Hall as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust gigs and had a week long sold out run at London’s Soho Theatre.
